What is a passive RFID tag?

in RFID Journal on . 0 Comments

Passive electronic tags, that is, passive radio frequency tags use frequency hopping mode, have anti-jamming capability, users can customize reading and writing standard data, in a special application system more efficient, reading distance up to 10 meters. Passive RF Tag 1024bits memory capacity, ultra-wide working frequency band, not only meet the relevant industry regulations, but also can be flexible development and application, can read and write multiple tags at the same time. Passive RF tag design eliminates the need for a battery and the memory can be erased over 100,000 times.

Chinese name Passive electronic tag Reading and writing distance within 10 meters Operating frequency National standard 860 ~ 960MHZ Support agreement ISO18000-6C (EPC GEN2)

working principle

The passive electronic tag (passive tag) does not have a built-in battery. When the tag is out of the read range of the reader, the tag is in a passive state. When the reader is within the reading range, the tag emits RF energy from the reader. Extract the power required for its operation. Passive electronic tags generally use reflective modulation to complete the transfer of electronic tag information to the reader. [1]

Technical Data Sheet

Working frequency: GB 860~960MHZ

Support Agreement: ISO18000-6C (EPC GEN2)

Reading and writing distance: 2M

Card memory capacity: EEPROM Total 1024 Bits

Tag reading and writing: Reading a single tag memory EEPROM data averagely takes about 1.4 ms per 32-bits read; 30-ms minimum per 32-bits when writing.

Anti-jamming performance of the tag: The anti-collision communication protocol is adopted. The effective binary tree anti-collision mechanism is not limited by the number of tags in the working area and can effectively read up to 50 tags per second.

PVC material working temperature: -40 °C ~ 65 °C Storage temperature: -55 °C ~ 100 °C.

PET material working temperature: -40 °C ~ 90 °C Storage temperature: -55 °C ~ 100 °C
