RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification that refers to small electronic devices that communicate using electromagnetic radio frequency. Such electronic devices usually consists an antenna and a small chip. RFID cards or tags contain electronically stored data or information. Basically, the RFID cards or tags are of two types, namely active and passive. However, depending on the frequencies both the active tags and passive tags are further classified.

Today, with the advancement in technology there are many uses of RFID. For example, the
13.56 mhz RFID card can serve in many ways since it provides a unique identify to the object. Just like other devices are scanned to get the data or information, similarly RFID devices are to be scanned to retrieve the data or information. 13.56 MHz can be said as a medium wavelength. This allows it to be in the read range of about 1 centimeter to 1 meter. The applications of this medium range RFID frequency include data transmissions, kiosks, access control applications, passport security, etc. all the applications where a long range is not require.

Also, depending upon the applications the size, shape and color may vary for 13.56 mhz RFID card. The users can order customized RFID cards as well, including printable tags, brand names, logos, etc. The color may also be customized for each RFID card, along with the size as well. Also, customization may add to costs of the card. Mostly all cards are built from multilevel layers or layers from different materials that when placed together properly gives the card a specific functionality.

The typical 13.56 mhz RFID card is made from PVC. The card layers are printed first and then the lamination of these layers takes place. Then they are embedded with the chip and data or information is added to it. Once unified and finished the card is ready to use and appears to the user in the unified form. Overall, there can be many steps in creating a RFID card, or customizing it as per the client's requirement. The use of such RFID cards is very helpful and revolutionizing since it’s a more secure way of transaction, and also ensures maximum customer satisfaction.
